Dr. Conklin was an amazing help to my son while he was at SMU. The University presented as having a strong support system for students with different learning styles before he accepted admission there and, after the first semester, we found this to not be true. 

Without the assistance of Dr. Conklin, I don't believe my son would have graduated in four years. She can help in all subjects and deal with other issues students often experience as well, like stress, anxiety, and pressure. We had parent meetings every semester and she was flexible working with my schedule. She also was available by phone, since I live in California. I highly recommend Dr. Ashley Conklin for your student.

Dr. Conklin's firm and organized academic guidance, accompanied by her understanding, empathy and positive reinforcement produce remarkable results, even in situations where other guidance has failed. Her personal interest goes beyond the customary guidance and her results confirm her effective approach.

As a teacher in graduate education in an Ivy League University for more than 30 years, I wish all students had the opportunity to see Dr. Conklin during their education odyssey.

I don't even know where to begin to say how thankful we were to find Ashley. My only regret is that we did not have her the first day my son started SMU.

My son has ADHD and gets very frustrated with his inability to focus. This frustration can lead to anger and depression. This frustration and lack of focus also impede his ability to manage his time and get/remain organized. Ashley helped in these areas and many more. She not only tutored him, she was a life coach, counselor, friend, doctor, and sounding board. She not only saved him but she saved our sanity too; by serving as the go between us and our son, she helped to save our relationship with him. Ashley did a wonderful balancing act between being his doctor, tutor, counselor and communicating with us.

Ashley was also a great help to our son with all of the paperwork, petitions, and accommodations, registering for classes and making sure that all of the confusing requirements were fulfilled, as well as for any problems with SMU that arose. I am positive without her help he would have missed many deadlines on many levels. I truly believe he might not have graduated without Ashley.

I believe if you have a student starting at SMU with ADHD, the sooner you get them started with Ashley the better. If we would have had her his first semester a lot of the issues we had to deal with later might have been prevented. Our family will forever be grateful that we found her in time!!!

I have had 3 children go through a total of 46 years of schooling and I have never experienced the caliber of excellence I have found in Ashley. She has incredible sensitivity towards her students, and a doggedness that enables them to find a rate of success when all seems rather dismal.  She is a true teacher in her ability to find the path for the wayward scholar that leads to understanding and enlightenment.
